Every personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which communicates with the hardware, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, and any applications that are present on the system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, every single application runs within the parameters set by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software like a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so you'll be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS

We offer three different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our virtual private servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are among the safest and the most reliable OSs on the market and we provide all three of them rather than only 1 since we realize that you may want to install some software with specific requirements regarding the Operating System it'll run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a large support community behind it and there're different software programs you may install on the hosting server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you want to use one and because of this we offer several Control Panels too. Should you decide that you need some other OS, our tech support team can quickly wipe the current one and install the one that you need. In addition, we offer an optional service to maintain the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Hosting

The dedicated server packages that we offer come with three different Operating Systems to choose from. They are all Linux release - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license taxes, but they’re also considered to be among the most dependable and risk-free OSs. We provide three different ones as each one of them is supported by a different community. The packages that you can add on your hosting server are different and this may matter if you want to install some piece of software with specific requirements about the hosting environment. In this light, the hosting Control Panel which you can select for the dedicated server is also determined by the Operating System that you will select. You may choose any of the three Operating Systems throughout the order process, however if necessary, we can always install the server once again with another one upon your request. As an optional service that you could add to the package whenever you want, we can update your OS regularly to keep it as risk-free as possible.
